This Gevrey Chambertin is probably the most typical wine of Serafin, and the most widely tasted. The style is exactly what we expect from the village of Gevrey Chambertin, distinguished for its intensity, density and volume. What we may not expect is the quality that can challenge many Premier Crus from other producers – and, perhaps, it has to do with the fact that the vines for this bottling have being planted in 1945. The wine needs almost a decade to reach its best.
